Healthcare

Increased waiting times leave patients and visitors with low phone battery, disconnected from friends & family – causing stress and anxiety at a critical time.

Addressing patients’ needs for mobile phone charging opens challenges with safety, staff resources and costs.

Joos’ handy portable phone chargers are the popular solution NHS hospitals and healthcare services offer patients to stay connected.

Help patients stay connected…

Hospital Benefits

Meeting patients' needs for mobile phone charging opens challenges with safety, staff resources and costs.   Joos' power banks and charging stations have been vetted by NHS Trusts to be safety compliant, and with no installation or maintenance fees the service runs cost-free for the Trust.

Improve patient experience

Nobody enjoys visiting hospital. Your healthcare facility can improve patient comfort by offering Joos, the NHS's most popular phone charging facility to keep patients connected.

Improve safety measures

Avoid the fire hazards of patients using untested cables in wall outlets. Joos improves safety by providing the UK's only power bank certified by Apple to safely charge its mobile devices.

Reduce pressure on staff

Joos' power bank dispenser is easily set up, maintained and supported by our specialist team - meaning hospital staff can focus on providing quality patient care.

Patient benefits

Increased waiting times deplete phone battery, leaving emergency patients disconnected from friends & family; stressed and anxious. Joos' portable power banks can be rented, or purchased, keeping patients engaged & connected while they wait.

Enhanced Comfort

Being disconnected from friends & family while waiting in the emergency department is stressful. Patients who sit with their phone charging on a handy little power bank are offered greater comfort.

Always Engaged

Alternative phone charging solutions often mean the patient leaves their phone in a locker or hands it over to staff, unable to use it while it charges.   With Joos' portable handheld mobile charger, patients are never without their phone, making the wait easier.

Rent or Own It

Patients can rent the power bank for as long as they want, returning it to the charging station when finished. Or they can purchase to use it hundreds of times, charging it via USB at home.

Imperial College Healthcare Case Study

50 acute NHS Hospitals launched Joos in 2022

Imperial College Healthcare was an early adopter, searching for a mobile phone charging solution at both Charing Cross Hospital and St. Mary’s Hospital emergency departments.

The Challenges

  1. Increased waiting time driving patients to become disconnected from friends and family due to low battery creates tension and stress
  2. A fire risk incident occurred when an untested personal charger was plugged into an electrical outlet in A&E
  3. A lack of charging solutions piled pressure on staff to charge patients’ phones, accepting responsibility for the security

Within weeks, Joos’ portable power banks had been demonstrated to improve patient care while reducing pressure on staff and enhancing safety.

Incredible Results

500 emergency patients rented Joos power banks in the first five weeks

  • Joos is projected to improve the experience for 5,500 patients annually – freeing up 275 hours for frontline staff
  • Over £1,500 will be paid to the Trust’s fund through Joos’ No-Fee, Revenue Share service option
  • Imperial College Healthcare’s management group has since added more power bank dispensers to benefit further patients at both Charing Cross Hospital and St. Mary’s Hospital

“We know A&E patients often run out of phone battery, so we’re excited to pioneer a new service to help patients stay connected with family & friends. Patients can grab a Joos power bank around our Emergency Department, equipped with cables to charge all devices.”
