A: Absolutely! We are thrilled to announce the upgrade to our charging stations, specifically the addition of contactless payment terminals. This upgrade is a significant step forward in enhancing the overall charging experience for our customers, whilst also marking a significant innovative step for the company. With the new contactless terminals, customers can now tap and go, making the rental process quicker and more seamless than ever before.
Q: How does this upgrade simplify the rental process for customers?
A: The previous rental process required customers to download the JOOS app, input their card details, and scan a QR code to access a power bank. When gathering customer feedback about this this process, we discovered that particularly for new customers with low battery, the existing process could be time-consuming and inconvenient. By introducing the contactless payment option, customers can now simply tap their device on the contactless terminal and instantly access a power bank. It’s a much smoother and quicker process that eliminates unnecessary steps.
Q: What was the driving force behind implementing contactless technology in the charging stations?
A: Our main goal is to provide ease and accessibility to our customers. Contactless payment is now the most common payment form in the UK, therefore it became an obvious choice to align with this trend and make the rental process as user-friendly as possible. In removing barriers to use, it means that customers can charge their devices effortlessly, even when they’re completely out of battery.
Q: Can you tell us how Joos’ vertical integration played a role in making this technological innovation possible?
A: Absolutely. Joos takes great pride in its vertical integration, and it played a pivotal role in making this technological innovation possible. The expertise and experience of our tech and product team based in Hangzhou, China, was instrumental in completing the integration between the Joos charging station and the contactless terminal.
The seamless collaboration between our UK & China offices showcases why Joos is the leading power bank rental company outside of China. Our vertical integration allows us to have direct control over the entire process, from design and development to manufacturing and deployment. This level of integration enables us to stay agile, innovative, and responsive to market demands.
